The online experience at St. Joseph Catholic Online High School will consist of all students on the same timetable regardless if they are in-person or online learners. Online learners will have 2-3 seminars per week for their core subject classes. This program will be structured into two semesters.
Semester 1 - September to January
Semester 2 - February to June
Student Support
Support for each online student is available and includes online virtual help desks and online student workshops, which focus on the specific needs of each student. We believe that great teaching is great teaching regardless of the setting. Our online teachers are skilled in providing virtual instruction that is both engaging and effective.
A daily schedule is established and followed, laying down the foundation for routine which includes structured start and end times. Students take part in whole group, small group and one to one experiences throughout the day. They collaborate with their peers during group projects and build further connections during extra-curricular opportunities. We are proud of the connections we have with our students and their families as we are in their homes each day - building community, connection and meaningful learning experiences together!
Teacher Advisor
Online students are also assigned to a Teacher Advisor (TA) who monitors their progress. Students will be expected to have access to their own personal electronic devices in order to participate in live lessons and assignment completion. Lastly, ECSD Online students are welcome to participate in all aspects of St. Joseph student life. This includes athletics, clubs, drama productions, and student’s union activities.
