Testing Centre

Testing Centre

When a student is ready to write an assessment they are to see their CA for a formative assessment. Permission to write a test will only be given to the student by the CA or the subject area Department Head via QMS. The student will have their ID scanned. The Testing Center, parent, student , CA and TA will receive an electronic message indicating that the student has ten school days (unless otherwise decided by the CA) to go to the Testing Center to write the test. The Testing Center will scan the student’s ID card and the list of approved tests will be visible to the clerk. After the ten day period, approval will expire and the student must speak to their CA again regarding approval to write the test. Students cheating on any assessments will receive a mark of zero which will be factored in to the cumulative course mark. GCL students are permitted two writing attempts on any test. The mark awarded will be the higher of the two marks. However, only ONE writing of a mid-term and final exam is allowed. Please refer to the Academic Honesty policy. Student will only be permitted to write 2 tests/exams per day total (not per subject) in the Testing Center. Students must present their school ID - no temporary IDs will be accepted to write exams. All textbooks, learning guides and formula sheets must be left in their lockers. Students must not communicate with other students in any way while writing their test. Questions should be directed to the supervisor. Students may not bring in backpacks, bags, purses, electronic devices, food or drink. Only pencils, pens, calculators and rulers can be brought in. When students complete their exam, they must scan themselves out. Testing Center will be open from 9 am-4:30 daily (including Thursday). The last Exams will be handed out at 3:00 pm. ALL TESTS MUST BE HANDED IN BY 4:30 PM!
